Anchor rolling involves the use of several anchors distributed in different directions around the vessel. These anchors are connected to the vessel by cable or chain, and are constantly adjusted to maintain the desired position or to move the vessel small distances in a controlled manner.

Positioning systems:

During positioning, specialized navigation software is used to make real-time adjustments to ensure the safety and accuracy of the process, differential GPS (DGPS) systems, remote GPS equipment on the tugs, acoustic references to monitor and ensure that the vessel remains in the precise designated location; to safely roll the vessel's anchors, determine the precise location in coordinates where the anchors are retrieved and anchored.
